My Seiko SNK809 had been jumping dates unpredictably for about a year. I'd been putting off getting it looked at because I wasn't sure what was wrong or what it would cost. The studio looked at it, explained clearly what had worn, confirmed the price before doing anything, and returned it within a week and a half. The quickset now feels noticeably firmer. Straightforward service and no surprises on the invoice.

Sent my Tissot PR 516 from KL by registered post after finding the studio online. The process worked well — they confirmed they had received the piece, sent findings two days later, and I agreed to the scope before anything was touched. Turnaround was around three weeks including transit time both ways. The piece returned in noticeably better timing than when I sent it. Communication throughout was clear and unhurried.

Port Dickson, NS
Brought in a Citizen diver I use for regular swimming at the beach. The bezel was fine but I was concerned about the sealing — it had been serviced years ago and I'd never renewed the gaskets. The studio's sports service covered exactly what I needed. They found the crown tube gasket had flattened considerably and replaced all three sealing points. The written summary they provided on return was genuinely useful — more detail than I expected.

I booked the setting habits conversation mainly because I'd owned an automatic for several years and wasn't confident I'd been handling the crown correctly. Forty-five minutes of straightforward conversation, no pressure to buy anything else. I learned that I'd been setting the date during the risk window almost every day for years. That RM 100 probably saved me a more expensive repair later on. Would recommend it to anyone who's unsure about their watch's daily use.

Sent my old Longines manual-wind from JB. It was running over a minute fast per day and the crown felt gritty in the setting position. The studio confirmed both issues were related — worn setting lever and a mainspring that had been in the movement too long. Work was completed on the agreed scope, returned well-packaged. Timing is now within ±10 seconds daily. Turnaround was slightly longer than initially indicated, but they kept me informed throughout so it wasn't a problem.

My daily-wear Seiko 5 sports model had been running a bit erratically for a while and I suspected the service was overdue. The studio's sports programme covered everything — they also noticed a partially failed crown gasket that I hadn't been aware of. The piece came back on noticeably better rate and I feel more confident wearing it in the rain. The write-up they included explained what was done clearly, which I appreciated.

Three service journeys in detail
Case: Date function failure on a calendar complication, Subang Jaya
Challenge
Owner's ETA 2836-2 based piece had lost reliable date advancement. The date was skipping some days and occasionally not advancing at all. The owner had been manually correcting it for over six months, increasing strain on the setting crown each time.
Work done
Magnification inspection identified a worn date driving finger on the date programme wheel and a flattened detent spring. Both components were replaced with calibre-correct references. Keyless works clearances were checked and adjusted. Full function cycle testing confirmed correct date and day advance.
Outcome
Date and day functions restored. Piece returned with written summary of findings. Owner confirmed reliable date advance over the following month. Total cost: RM 280. Turnaround: 9 working days.
"I'd assumed it would cost more than it did to fix. The explanation of what had actually worn was genuinely helpful." — N. Ibrahim, Subang Jaya
Case: Sports model overhaul with sealing concern, Ipoh
Challenge
Owner had worn a Casio Oceanus reference in and out of the water for three years since its last service. The caseback gasket was original to the watch and the owner had noticed a faint discolouration inside the crystal after a recent swim.
Work done
Full sports model service. Disassembly confirmed light moisture ingress at the crown tube. Movement cleaned and lubricated. Worn cannon pinion replaced. All three gasket points renewed. Post-service pressure check confirmed improved sealing. Rate adjusted to within ±8 seconds per day across positions.
Outcome
Movement restored to specification. No further moisture ingress reported. Owner continues using the piece for regular water activities. Total cost: RM 760. Turnaround: 18 working days including postal transit.
"The discolouration under the crystal was more concerning than I let on. The summary they sent back explained exactly what they found and what they did about it." — H. Chong, Ipoh
Case: Setting habits consultation, inherited manual-wind piece
Challenge
Owner had inherited a 1970s Omega Genève manual-wind from a relative and was unsure how to wind and set it correctly. The piece seemed to stop unexpectedly and the owner was concerned about overwinding.
Conversation covered
Manual-wind winding resistance — distinguishing a fully-wound mainspring from a seized one. Correct crown positions. Safe date-setting window. Storage and wearing frequency considerations for a full-wind movement. Brief notes provided for the owner to keep with the piece.
Outcome
Owner now winds and sets the piece without concern. The Genève has been running reliably as a daily wear piece since the consultation. Total cost: RM 100. Session duration: approx. 50 minutes in person.
"I wasn't expecting them to give me written notes to take home. That detail made it much easier to remember what we'd discussed a few weeks later." — S. Krishnan, Seremban
