Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 10 April 2025 | Effective: 10 April 2025
1. Definitions
In these Terms and Conditions, the following terms have the meanings set out below:
- "Studio" / "We" / "Us" — Batiktime Tickbench, operating from 8 Jalan Bidara, 70200 Seremban, Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia.
- "Client" / "You" — the person submitting a piece for service or enquiring about a service through this website or by other means.
- "Service" — any bench work or consultation provided by the studio, as described on this website.
- "Piece" — the wristwatch or watch component submitted by the Client for service.
- "Agreement" — the contract formed when the Client confirms a service scope and the studio accepts the Piece for work.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By submitting an enquiry through this website or delivering a Piece to the studio, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age, that you have the legal capacity to enter a contract, and that you accept these Terms and Conditions. If you are submitting a Piece on behalf of another person or entity, you confirm you have authority to do so.
3. Service Description
The studio currently offers three services: Date and Day Quickset Repair (RM 280), Wristwatch Service for Sports Models (RM 760), and Watch Setting Habits Conversation (RM 100). Full descriptions of each service are provided on the Solutions page of this website. Services are available to clients located in Malaysia. Clients outside Malaysia are not currently served.
4. Service Delivery Terms
4.1 Scope confirmation
No bench work will begin until the Client has been informed of the inspection findings and has confirmed the service scope. If the inspection reveals issues beyond the scope initially discussed, the studio will contact the Client before proceeding with any additional work.
4.2 Turnaround
Indicative turnaround times are provided at the enquiry stage and vary by service type. These are estimates, not commitments. Delays may arise from component sourcing, postal transit, or studio capacity. The studio will inform the Client if a service will take significantly longer than initially indicated.
4.3 Postal services
Where a Piece is sent by post or courier, the studio will confirm receipt. Return transit is arranged by the studio using registered post or tracked courier. Risk of loss or damage during transit is with the courier service; the studio is not liable for items lost or damaged in transit once they have been handed to the courier.
4.4 Declined services
After inspection, the Client may choose not to proceed with any service. The Piece will be returned with the written inspection findings. A handling fee may apply to declined services where inspection work has been carried out; this will be communicated at the inspection stage.
5. Payment Terms
Prices are quoted in Malaysian Ringgit (RM). Payment is due upon completion of the service, before return of the Piece. Accepted payment methods include bank transfer (DuitNow, online banking) and cash at the studio. The studio does not accept credit or debit card payments at this time. Invoices reflect the agreed service scope and any additional components discussed and approved by the Client during the service.
6. Intellectual Property
All content on this website — including text, layout, design, and photography — is owned by or licensed to Batiktime Tickbench. You may not reproduce, redistribute, or commercially exploit any content from this website without prior written consent from the studio.
7. Client Responsibilities
- Provide accurate information about the Piece and its known condition at the time of submission
- Collect or arrange return of the Piece within 60 days of service completion; uncollected pieces held beyond this period may attract a storage fee
- Ensure that any Piece submitted is your property or that you have the owner's authority to submit it for service
- Use the website in a lawful manner and not attempt to circumvent any technical measures or submit false enquiries
8. Disclaimers
Watch servicing involves inherent risks, including the possibility that disassembly may reveal pre-existing damage not apparent from external inspection. The studio will inform the Client of any such findings before proceeding. The studio does not represent that a service will restore a piece to any particular performance standard; results will be communicated honestly at the inspection stage.
The Watch Setting Habits Conversation is informational in nature and does not constitute professional technical advice specific to any particular calibre or condition.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Malaysian law, the studio's liability for any claim arising from a service is limited to the value of the service fee paid. The studio is not liable for loss of use, consequential losses, or indirect losses of any kind. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death, personal injury, or fraud caused by the studio's negligence.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Batiktime Tickbench against any claim, loss, or damage arising from your breach of these Terms, your provision of inaccurate information, or your submission of a Piece to which you do not have lawful title.
11. Termination
Either party may withdraw from an Agreement before bench work has begun. Once bench work has commenced, the Client is responsible for the service fee for work carried out up to the point of termination. The studio may decline to provide a service at its discretion, in which case any Piece submitted will be returned without charge.
12. Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. In the event of a dispute, both parties will first attempt to resolve the matter informally by direct communication. If informal resolution is not reached within 30 days, disputes will be referred to the courts of Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia, which shall have non-exclusive jurisdiction.
13. General Provisions
- Entire agreement: These Terms, together with any written service confirmation, constitute the entire agreement between the parties regarding a service.
- Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force.
- Waiver: Failure to enforce any provision does not constitute a waiver of the right to enforce it subsequently.
- Assignment: You may not assign your rights or obligations under these Terms without the studio's written consent.
14. Changes to These Terms
The studio may update these Terms from time to time. The revised version will be published on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the website or submission of a service enquiry after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
